Spanish delivery company Glovo completes acquisition of Ehrana

Ljubljana – The acquisition of the food delivery platform Ehrana is now finalised and all activities have been transferred to Glovo, the Spanish acquirer said. Glovo had announced in May that it would take over one of the largest home delivery providers in Slovenia, and the deal has now been completed.

According to Glovo, all the content of the Ehrana app has now been transferred, which means that users of the app will be automatically redirected to Glovo via a personalised link. The same applies to the Ehrana website.

All restaurants from the former Ehrana app are already available in the Glovo app, a total of more than 400 restaurants.

“We are pleased to announce that the transfer of Ehrana to Glovo has been successfully completed. We are delighted to be part of the Slovenian on-demand delivery market,” said Victor Racariu, Glovo’s Regional Managing Director for South East Europe.

Borut Markelj, CEO of Glovo Slovenia and co-founder of the former Ehrana delivery platform, also sees the merger as positive for customers.

Glovo has also partnered with the Tuš supermarket chain and a number of local shops to deliver groceries and products such as gifts, flowers, refreshments, beauty and grooming products, children’s products and books.

Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Glovo and runs an on-demand courier service, operating in SE Europe, Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Its app enables delivery various from restaurants, grocery chains, pharmacies and retail stores.
