Turkey, US set to hold political consultations in Washington

Turkey's deputy foreign minister is set to visit the U.S. capital on Sept. 16 and 17 as part of political consultations between Ankara and Washington.

"Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sedat Önal will visit Washington, D.C. on 16-17 September 2021 and meet with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland," said a Foreign Ministry statement on Sept. 15.

Önal and Sherman are set to discuss "bilateral relations, regional issues and international developments" as part of comprehensive political consultations to be held between the delegations during the visit, added the statement.
