Over 1,000 coronavirus cases Monday as downward trend preserved

Ljubljana – Slovenia recorded 1,037 new coronavirus cases on Monday as the slow decline in the curve of infections continues, data from the National Institute of Public Health shows. Nine Covid-19 patients died.

With the case count falling by 20% from Monday a week ago, the 7-day average of new cases dropped by 39 from the day before to 839 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 was down by 17 to 619.

There are still an estimated 13,124 active cases in the country, down by 354.

The test positivity rate yesterday was slightly up to 21.7%.

Data released by the government shows 419 Covid-19 patients were treated in hospitals this morning, seven fewer than yesterday; 107 were in intensive care.

The youngest hospitalised patient is 18, and the youngest in intensive care is 27.

With another nine fatalities, the overall death toll from Covid-19 increased to 4,871, it follows from the table released by the Health Ministry.
