Minister Počivalšek to visit Slovenian pavilion at Expo

Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek and a business delegation will visit Slovenia’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai on Saturday to attend the first Slovenian business forum at this world exhibition. The forum, held at the pavilion, will feature more than 20 Slovenian companies that will present their potential in circular economy.

Počivalšek will open the business forum and have several bilateral meetings, the SPIRIT agency, the main organiser of Slovenia’s promotion at the Expo, said.

While the pavilion opened on Friday together with the Expo, today’s high-level events are seen as a symbolic inauguration that kick starts a diverse six-month programme featuring events divided in eleven main topics with 120 companies taking part.

The country’s promotion at the Expo, which is expected to attract 25 million visitors, will focus on three markets: Asia, Africa and to a certain extent South America.

The pavilion is built of wood, has a green facade and is surrounded by water, paying a tribute to Slovenia’s three main natural resources – wood, nature and water.

Inside it, visitors will be transported to Slovenia with the help of state-of-the-art digital technology in what will be an immersive experience.
