Over 1,400 coronavirus cases on Friday in six-month high

Ljubljana – Slovenia logged 1,437 coronavirus cases on Friday in what is the highest daily tally since 30 March. This was as one out of four PCR tests (25.2%) came back positive, follows from data released by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The 7-day average of new cases has thus increased by 79 to 927 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people has risen by 21 to 573.

NIJZ estimates that there are now 12,158 active cases in the country, which 451 more than the day before.

Data from the Covid-19 tracker site shows hospitalisations have fallen to just below 400 as 119 patients required intensive care. Another four patients died.
