Janša in video call with Cambodian PM ahead of ASEM summit

Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša had a video call with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen on Tuesday with his office saying the pair discussed bilateral relations between the two countries which they both wish to enhance.

The screen-to-screen meeting was held in anticipation of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). As the country presiding the forum Cambodia will host the 13th summit of Asian and EU leaders on 25 and 26 November.

The Slovenian and Cambodian prime ministers noted there was plenty of potential for bilateral economic cooperation between their countries, Janša’s office said.

ASEM was set up in 1996 to promote dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe. ASEM partners represent 65% of the global economy, 60% of the global population, 55% of global trade and 75% of global tourism.

Slovenia is the current EU presiding country.
