Ukraine have cemented second place as well, having ceded only half a point to Greece yesterday.

The battle for third place will be fought by seven teams which share ten points each. Poland are currently in the best position.

In the men’s competition, Azerbaijan and Ukraine entered the seventh round neck-and-neck at the top of the rankings and played 2:2 on Saturday, whereas favourites Russia were beaten by France.

Five teams now have 12 points before the last round, with Azerbaijan and France in the best position to clinch the title.
