Ski jumper Ema Klinec makes podium in Nizhny Tagil

Nizhny Tagil – Slovenia’s Ema Klinec was second in the women’s Ski Jumping Word Cup meet in Russia’s Nizhny Tagil on Friday, finishing in between the first-placed Marita Kramer of Austria and her compatriot Daniela Iraschko-Stolz. Slovenia’s Urša Bogataj placed fourth.

The Slovenian women’s ski jumping team had a good showing at the first World Cup event this season with three Slovenian ski jumpers making it to the top ten. Nika Križnar, the winner of the last World Cup season, finished eight.

Klinec scored 211.8 points, 41.7 points behind Kramer, who was in a class of her own, taking the first place by landing at 104.5 metres, a record jump for the Tramplin Stork jumping hill.

This is Klinec’s 12th podium result in World Cup competitions. The 23-year-old has not yet notched any victories on this level, however she was crowned normal hill World Champion this year.

On Saturday, another individual event for women ski jumpers will be held in Nizhny Tagil.
