Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša will hold talks with Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg via video link on Tuesday, Janša’s office said on Sunday. This will be the pair’s first bilateral meeting since Schallenberg assumed office in October.

The pair will discuss bilateral relations between Slovenia and Austria, the office said, describing the relationship as amicable, close and far-reaching including on political and economic levels.

Janša and Schallenberg will also talk about Covid-19 and the Western Balkans situation, as well as preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit, the situation in Belarus and other current foreign policy issues.

Austria is Slovenia’s fourth most important trading partner and number one when it comes to investment in the Slovenian economy. Slovenia is the largest per capita importer of Austrian products in trade in goods.
