Erdoğan, UN chief discuss initiatives to end crisis caused by Russia-Ukraine war

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.N. secretary-general on June 20 spoke over phone and discussed initiatives aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, Türkiye's Communications Directorate said in a statement.

Erdoğan stated that Türkiye maintained joint efforts to ensure the exportation of the Ukrainian grains over the Black Sea, which would be effective in terms of averting a global food crisis. President Erdoğan noted that he continued to urge his counterparts to revive the peace negotiations and end the war through diplomacy.
