Photo exhibition by Uli Weber opens at Ljubljana Castle

Ljubljana – An exhibition by world-renowned photographer Uli Weber will open at Ljubljana Castle on Thursday evening showcasing photographies of horses, celebrities and cars under the title Moments.

“Uli Weber (…) clearly loves his subjects. It is apparent his passion and fascination to do justice to a portrayal – be it a portrayal of a celebrity, equine or car races – know no boundaries,” curator of the exhibition Chloe Beeney wrote.

German-born Weber studied photography in Rome and then relocated to London. His work has been featured in some of the most prominent museums worldwide and he is best known for his celebrity portraits.

Weber’s skill set and artistic technique are comparable to that of photography giants Henri Cartier-Bresson and August Sander, said international critic and former photo director at Vogue Ivan Shaw.

Weber rose to fame while working for numerous prestigious magazines, such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and GQ. In his photography book Portraits (2010), he captured celebrities like Jeremy Irons, Robbie Williams, Hugh Grant, Kate Moss, Daniel Radcliffe and many more, as well as prominent figures in architecture and design, such as Achille Castiglioni and Oscar Niemeyer.

In 2014, the Duke of Richmond invited him to photograph champion race driver Sterling Moss which resulted in an award-winning project the Goodwood Revival that conveyed the story of the word’s most popular yearly historic motor race meeting in West Sussex, at the Duke’s Goodwood Estate.

The photographer’s 2018 The Allure of Horses explores the close-knit relationship between horse and man, and captures the respect the English have for these animals, from changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace to playing polo.

Now, Weber is exploring new boundaries, unexplored landscapes, striking detail and hidden beauty that seduces, says Ljubljana Castle’s website.

The exhibition will be on display until 4 September.
