Outdoor exotic animal show opens in Mozirski Gaj

Mozirje – The largest outdoor exhibition of exotic animals in Slovenia so far will open in the Mozirski Gaj flower park, north-west of Celje, on Thursday. Running until Monday, the show will feature pythons, anacondas and various species of lizards, but it will also cater to fans of less exotic creatures.

Visitors will have an opportunity to admire lizards such as the Argentine tegu, Komodo dragon, central bearded dragon, iguanas and the colourful panther chameleon.

They can also get an up-close look at Maine Coon cats on Saturday and Sunday in what will be their first appearance in Mozirski Gaj, as well as various turtles, insects, parrots and other animals.

At dedicated spots visitors will be allowed to briefly touch the animals, or they can sign up for Bioexo association-hosted workshops to overcome their fear of snakes and other exotic creatures.

There will be less exotic animals too as rides on ponies will be available and the Slovenian-bred Lipizzan horses will put on show, reads a press release. The family-friendly exhibition will also feature face-painting services, workshops and treasure hunts.
