Prosecutor recommends no charges against Filippidis

A prosecutor in the trial of well-known actor Petros Filippidis, accused of sex crimes against young actresses, recommended his acquittal on Friday on the charge of rape and a guilty verdict on two counts of attempted rape.

The actor is accused of allegedly raping one colleague twice in 2008 and attempting to rape two others in 2010 and 2014. 

Prosecutor Stella Stogia argued that both the plaintiff and the witnesses examined failed to convince the court that rape, as it is defined by the law, occurred. She also questioned the plaintiff's credibility.

On the other hand she recommended a guilty verdict for the attempted rape of two other young actresses, one in his dressing room and the other in his car, arguing that the allegations, in her opinion, were credible.

If the court accepts her recommendation, the actor will get a sentence of less than 10 years....
