Djedovic: Serbia to keep increasing share of renewables

BELGRADE - In the years to come, Serbia will keep increasing its share of renewable energy sources while looking after the stability of the energy system and the financial and social sustainability of energy transition, says Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic.

Djedovic said this during a conversation with International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Director-General Francesco La Camera.

The parties said the region of southeastern Europe had excellent potential for power generation at competitive prices but that, despite the significant investments made to date, this was still insufficient for a successful green transition.

Djedovic noted that Serbia was an IRENA co-founder and that, besides active participation in the organisation's assembly meetings, it was interested in expanding cooperation aimed at transferring knowledge, experiences...
