Vucic holds meeting with police and security chiefs

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with top officials of the Interior Ministry and security agencies on Wednesday evening.

The extraordinary meeting was called following threats made at a Belgrade protest against the government policy on Kosovo-Metohija.

Speaking about the meeting, Vucic said they had analysed the state of public peace and order and that the relevant authorities had the situation under control.

Earlier in the day, police and Security Information Agency officers pulled over a Citroen car in Sremska Kamenica, northern Serbia, and arrested two passengers suspected of heading to the gathering outside the Presidency of Serbia building in central Belgrade.

A carbine was found in the vehicle.
