Romania's stance on Kosovo-Metohija unchanged - MFA

BUCHAREST - The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that Romania did not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, stressing that the country's stance on the issue remained unchanged.

In a written response to a Tanjug query, the ministry said it fully supported the EU-facilitated dialogue as the main channel for efficient and comprehensive normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations that could bring lasting peace and stability in the region.

It welcomed the readiness for compromise demonstrated by the leaders in Belgrade and Pristina at a February 27 meeting in Brussels, and expressed the hope further talks about an annex to an accepted agreement would soon produce results so that implementation could begin.
