Pristina court extends detention for Kosovo Serb

PRISTINA - A Pristina basic court has extended by two months the detention of Kosovo Serb Sladjan Trajkovic, a former police officer charged with alleged war crimes, his wife confirmed to Tanjug on Wednesday.

"In the absence of the lawyer and my husband, the prosecutor again conducted a hearing of witnesses and said she now has 30 witnesses, while she previously said there were six of them," said Suzana Trajkovic.

"Lawyer Dejan Vasic lodged an appeal and again requested that he (Trajkovic) be allowed to receive treatment at the Kosovska Mitrovica clinical hospital or released to house arrest," she said.

She said Trajkovic had not even been informed of the court's decision and had only learned of it during a phone conversation with her.
