In other news this week in the region, Hungary's teaching unions called a nationwide teachers' strike for Thursday and Friday; Slovakia said it will send its Soviet-era jets to Ukraine as soon as negotiations with international partners come to an end; and several thousand people attended an anti-government protest in the centre of Prague on Saturday, calling for the government to resign and clashing with police as they attempted to tear the Ukrainian flag from atop the National Museum.
