Digital labor card for state transport workers

The government is bringing forward the implementation of the digital labor card at state companies to the end of April, in the aftermath of the Tempe railway tragedy.

The findings of the investigation into the deadly train collision have reportedly deemed it imperative that the digital work card be introduced at public utility companies, especially those in transport.

At first, according to the Labor Ministry, the measure will be applied at 12 organizations which cover some 18,000 employees, as well as the companies Hellenic Train and Hellenic Railway Equipment Maintenance Company, in order to deal with issues related to workers on the railway network. Other state companies will follow in the second year.
