Serbians Djere, Lajovic off to winning start at Miami Masters

MIAMI - Serbian tennis players Laslo Djere and Dusan Lajovic are through to the second round of the Miami Masters tournament.

Djere, who ranks 58th in the ATP rankings, defeated world number 168 Aleksandar Vukic of Australia 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) last night.

Djere will next face Italian Jannik Sinner.

Djere is 2-1 head-to-head against Sinner.

World number 76 Lajovic scored a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Briton Andy Murray, who is placed 52nd in the ATP rankings.

In the second round, Lajovic will play American Maxim Cressy.

Cressy has a 1-0 head-to-head record against the Serbian.

The prize money in Miami is 8.8 mln dollars.
