Zoran Knezevic elected new SANU president

BELGRADE - The Assembly of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) elected astronomer Zoran Knezevic as its new president on Thursday.

Seventy-five assembly members voted for Knezevic, while his rival, composer Svetislav Bozic, garnered 33 votes.

After taking a degree in astronomy at the Belgrade Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics in 1972, Knezevic obtained a master's degree in 1976 and a doctor's degree in 1989.
