Punter three-pointer wins game for Partizan vs Real Madrid

MADRID - Partizan Belgrade defeated Real Madrid 89-87 (22-22, 26-22, 15-20, 26-23) away from home in the first game of the two teams' EuroLeague Basketball quarter-final series on Tuesday evening.

Kevin Punter scored a three-pointer in the final second to hand Partizan a 1-0 lead in the series.

Punter led the scoring for Partizan with 26 points, Zach Leday scored 13, and Alen Smailagic, Dante Exum and Mathias Lessort each added 11 points.

Gabriel Deck excelled for Real Madrid with 24 points and Guerschon Yabusele and Walter Tavares added 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Whichever team wins three games will qualify for the Final Four tournament.

The next game of the series will be played in Madrid on Thursday.
