Cukaricki overcome Vojvodina to advance to Serbian football cup final
NOVI SAD - Cukaricki Belgrade are through to the final of the Serbian football cup after defeating Vojvodina Novi Sad away 1-0 in the semi-final on Thursday.
The match at the Karadjordje Stadium was decided in the second half, when Vojvodina's Uros Vitas was sent off in the 52nd minute after picking up a second yellow card.
The visitors proved to be able to make use of the numerical advantage and substitute Luka Adzic scored the winner for Cukaricki in the 71st minute, just three minutes after coming on.
The semi-final tie was replayed after being interrupted on Wednesday after 33 minutes of play due to a heavy rainstorm in Novi Sad as Cukaricki were leading 2-0.
In the final, Cukaricki will face cup title holders Red Star Belgrade on May 25.
