Pristina's police storm Zvecan municipal building, clash with residents

ZVECAN - Pristina's police stormed the building of the Zvecan municipality on Friday after firing tear gas and stun grenades at residents who had gathered outside in an attempt to stop them, a Tanjug reporter on the ground said.

Gunshots were heard in the town after clashes erupted between residents and the police.

Four people were injured in the clashes, Tanjug was told.

A police car was burned down.

Pristina's special police forces blocked all routes leading into and out of the town and armoured vehicles and riot police units are deployed outside the building.

KFOR troops were also arriving on the scene as KFOR helicopters were seen flying over the north of Kosovo-Metohija.
