Wacker Neuson plant opens in Kragujevac

KRAGUJEVAC - The German company Wacker Neuson opened a factory in Kragujevac, central Serbia, on Thursday.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Serbian PM Ana Brnabic.

She said FDI inflow to Serbia in Q1 2023 stood at 783.9 mln euros and was up by 39 pct compared to the same period of 2022, the year when FDI totalled a record-high 4.4 bln euros.

The Kragujevac plant will produce steel parts and equipment for construction machinery.

Brnabic noted that Germany was Serbia's largest economic and trade partner as well as its top bilateral donor.

She added that, after many years, Kragujevac was again becoming an engine of Serbia's development, including an engine of advanced technological development, and that the government had worked on that for a long time.
