Flame for Youth Olympic Festival arrives in Maribor

With less than two months to go until the opening of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Maribor, the Flame of Peace has arrived in Slovenia's second city marking the symbolic start of the biggest sporting event the city has ever seen.

The flame was lit in a ceremony in Rome earlier this week, with the president of the European Olympic Committees, Spiros Capralos, handing symbolic olive branches to Maribor Mayor Saša Arsenovič and Franjo Bobinac, the president of the Slovenian Olympic Committee.
