Lajcak: Meeting with Vucic useful, urgent steps needed to de-escalate situation

BRUSSELS - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said on Wednesday evening he had had a useful meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and that they had agreed that steps needed to be taken urgently to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

"Had a useful meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic after today's meeting of Chief Negotiators. We agreed on the importance to urgently take steps to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo and make swift progress on normalisation of relations," Lajcak wrote in a post on his official Twitter profile.

Previously, Lajcak met with the chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina, Petar Petkovic and Besnik Bislimi.
