UK’s Braverman receives tour of Evros border

The Greek government and authorities have been very successful in fighting "illegal migration" by creating "an extremely secure land border" with a sturdy fence that was built very quickly to act as a deterrent, British Home Secretary Suella Braverman has said on a visit to the Evros border region.

Strong police, military and Frontex forces are monitoring the border and ensuring that the law is upheld and had brought about a drastic reduction in illegal crossings of the specific land border in Evros, she added.

Braverman was invited to the region by her Greek counterpart, Citizen Protection Minister Yiannis Economou, who said Greece maintains a "tough but fair migration policy that has brought results."
