Begovic: Serbia to develop bioeconomy by building BIO4 campus

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begovic said on Tuesday the construction of a BIO4 campus, slated to begin at the end of December, would be very important for development of science and the bioeconomy in Serbia, and added that the Torlak Institute for Virology, Vaccines and Sera would be a part of the campus.

"Over the past seven or eight years, we have also had an increase in the number of companies directly or indirectly linked to biotech. Biotech and all biosciences are now merging with IT and artificial intelligence and entirely new areas of research and new fields of application are opening up, and that is why the project to build the BIO4 campus - which will bring together a large number of our biotech experts - is important," Begovic told Tanjug.
