Erdoğan meets Qatari Emir for peace talks, bilateral relations

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has met with Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his visit to Doha to discuss the Israel-Hamas conflict and bilateral relations.

Discussions during the meeting on Dec. 4 revolved around the ongoing war in Gaza, efforts towards a ceasefire and the necessary actions for delivering humanitarian aid to the region.

During the meeting, Erdoğan said Israel must be held accountable for the war crimes it committed, stressing that it is crucial to increase legal efforts and international support to this end.

Erdoğan also asserted that Türkiye is persistently intensifying its endeavors to guarantee the sufficient transportation of humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

Relations between Qatar and Türkiye, as well as regional and international issues, were thoroughly examined throughout the meeting.

The signing ceremony of the agreements between the two nations commenced after the leaders' meeting.

Twelve cooperation agreements were signed, alongside the joint declaration of the ninth meeting of the high strategic committee.
