Same-sex marriage: Society is progressing, says Sakellaropoulou

The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou spoke in favor of equal rights for children in same-sex families in an unofficial statement regarding the ongoing debate for same-sex marriage legislation, as reported by state-run broadcaster ERT on Monday.

"Society is progressing, moving forward. In an inclusive society, there cannot be exceptions to rights. Especially concerning children," stated Sakellaropoulou.
