Sean "Diddy" Combs has spoken out after a disturbing video surfaced of him assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. In an Instagram post on Sunday, the 54-year-old rapper apologized, admitting that he hit "rock bottom" but offered no excuses for his actions. He acknowledged the inexcusable behavior captured in the video and expressed disgust, emphasizing that he sought professional help, including therapy and rehab, and turned to God for mercy and grace.

Following the release of the shocking surveillance footage showing Diddy violently attacking Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, the public response has been intense. The video, obtained by CNN, depicts Diddy aggressively pushing, kicking, and dragging Cassie down a hotel hallway. Despite the graphic nature of the video, Diddy had remained silent until his recent apology.

Diddy's apology, however, has not been universally accepted. Many critics argue that it comes too late and is more about salvaging his reputation than genuine remorse. Cassie's attorney, Meredith Firetog, dismissed Diddy's apology as self-serving, emphasizing that his previous denials of wrongdoing and attempts to discredit his accusers undermine the sincerity of his words.

Legal proceedings related to the assault depicted in the video have faced challenges due to the statute of limitations. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office stated that they would not be able to prosecute Diddy for the assault due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
