Elderly woman in central Greece dies due to contaminated water

An elderly woman in the Magnesia region of central Greece died on Friday after falling ill due to contaminated water supply, local media report.

According to the reports, the victim was an 82-year-old woman who developed severe symptoms of gastroenteritis and a high fever after drinking contaminated water.

The woman followed a treatment prescribed by doctors at the Velestino Health Center. However, her condition worsened and she was transferred to a clinic in Volos, where she died of cardiac arrest.

The 82-year-old resided in Nea Anchialos but had moved to her daughter's home in Stefanovikeio in recent weeks due to health problems. Her daughter also fell ill with gastroenteritis.
