Vucevic: State of Serbian economy must be assessed to boost GDP

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic on Friday chaired a session of a council tasked with coordinating activities and measures aimed at GDP growth, at which the results achieved in all fields important for economic stability and sustainable economic growth in the country were analysed.

The current state of the national economy must be assessed to act in a timely manner to achieve in 2024 the best possible economic growth, which has a direct impact on the citizens' lives and peace and stability in the country, a government statement quoted Vucevic as saying.

He said GDP growth had reached a higher-than-expected 4.7 pct in Q1 2024 and noted that industry, construction, agriculture and manufacturing were key sectors for economic growth that had seen great progress in the first quarter of the year.
