A neighbor from the “quiet street” where the incident occurred, who preferred not to be named, mentioned not knowing the victims well but described them as a “friendly family.” “We saw them passing by the house every day, and they would greet us with ‘good morning’,” the neighbor said. “It’s truly tragic what happened, very shocking.”
Another resident of the area reported hearing “someone screaming” between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm the previous evening. “It was a woman screaming,” the resident said. “Within 15 minutes, there was complete chaos.”
The resident described how armed police instructed everyone to stay indoors and “essentially locked us down” before the arrival of ambulances, helicopters, and additional police vehicles. “It’s extremely distressing to think that this occurred so close by, and none of us knew or could assist,” the resident added.
Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Ash-Edwards referred to the incident as a “tragedy” in a statement, expressing condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
“Their deaths have undoubtedly shaken the local Hertfordshire community,” he stated, emphasizing ongoing police updates.
