Serbian Democracy leader arrested in northern Kosovska Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Serbian Democracy leader Aleksandar Arsenijevic was arrested by Pristina's police in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Tuesday, Tanjug's correspondent reported.
The so-called Kosovo Police has still not confirmed the reasons for the arrest.
Previously, Pristina's PM Albin Kurti came to the northern part of the town after laying a cornerstone for a new police station in the Lesak village near Leposavic.
In a reaction, the head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said Kurti was continuing his policy of police occupation of the north of Kosovo-Metohija.
He said building a new police station in that part of the province would bring neither security nor peace to Serbs who lived there, but was a direct threat, intimidation and provocation targeting the remaining Serb population.
