BELGRADE - After a four-day debate, the Serbian parliament on Thursday voted against amendments to the Law on Mining and Geological Explorations, submitted by opposition parties in a bid to ban boron and lithium exploration and mining in Serbia.
Eighty-four of 214 MPs in attendance voted in favour of the amendments, 128 voted against, there were no abstentions and two MPs did not take part in the vote.
Earlier, the parliament rejected a motion by opposition MP Danijela Nestorovic, who requested a public, roll-call vote on the amendments.
