Mitsotakis congratulates Moldovan president on re-election

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has congratulated Moldova's pro-Western president, Maia Sandu, on her re-election, saying Greece stands with her country as it moves forward on its European Union path.

"Congratulations President @sandumaiamd on your re-election. Greece stands with Moldova as it advances on its European path, committed to our shared values of democracy and freedom. Looking forward to further strengthening the relations between our countries," Mitsotakis said on X.

Sandu won a second term in a pivotal presidential runoff against a Russia-friendly opponent, in a race that was overshadowed by claims of Russian interference, voter fraud, and intimidation in the EU candidate country.
