Athens giants catch up with Thessaloniki teams at the Super League summit

Olympiakos beat PAOK on Sunday and has climbed to the top of the Super League table alongside Aris, that lost at Panetolikos, and AEK that beat Asteras Tripolis at home.

Therefore the losses of both Thessaloniki teams mean that AEK and Olympiakos have joined Aris at the top and PAOK has dropped to fourth, while Panathinaikos won again and is now within two points from the leaders.

The Reds defeated PAOK 3-2 at Toumba in one of the most dramatic games of the season to date. The visitors led 2-0 with Babis Kostoulas and Ayoub El Kaabi. Baba Rahman pulled one back for PAOK, but Gelson Martins scored Olympiakos' third before an own goal by David Carmo.

Aris remains the leader on its best head-to-head record, despite its 2-1 loss at Panetolikos on Saturday. The Agrinio team is sixth at the table, but only three points from the top, thanks to goals by Nondas...
