Egypt to host Greece, Cyprus leaders in January

A trilateral summit is set to take place in early January in Cairo, marking a decade of collaboration between Greece, Egypt and Cyprus.

The summit, to be attended by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, aims to further strengthen ties between the three nations, despite efforts by external actors to undermine the partnership. 

The cooperation remains robust, especially between Greece and Egypt, with energy and regional security on the agenda. 

Following the summit, a Supreme Cooperation Council meeting is planned between Mitsotakis and Sisi. 

Key discussions will focus on advancing energy projects, notably the Greece-Egypt electricity grid connection (GREGY), which is a priority for Egypt as it seeks closer ties with the European Union. The project is seen as crucial...
