Storm Bora inundates Greece as weather service issues alert for Tinos

An emergency alert via 112 has been issued for the Cycladic island of Tinos on Saturday, as a major storm sweeping in from the west pounded Greece, causing floods in several parts of the country. The message urged local residents to avoid traveling and follow the instructions of the authorities.

Storm Bora, caused by a low-pressure system over the Ionian Sea moving slowly eastward, is bringing severe weather conditions, including heavy rain, thunderstorms, gale-force winds, and snow in mountainous areas of Western Macedonia, Epirus, and other regions of Northern Greece

In its updated bulletin on Saturday, Greece's National Meteorological Service (EMY) said western Macedonia and Thessaly will be the regions most affected.
