Heavy rainfall causes disruptions across Attica
Heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, has been impacting several areas of Attica since the early hours of the morning.
Shortly before 7 a.m., traffic was temporarily halted in the underground section of Mesogeion Avenue at its intersection with Katechaki. However, the road was reopened soon after, despite the persistent rain.
The fire department has responded to numerous calls for water pumping in various locations, including Filothei-Psychiko, Holargos-Papagou, Halandri, and Vasilissis Sofias Avenue in central Athens.
Major traffic disruptions have been reported in the northbound lanes of Kifissos Avenue, the Athens Avenue exit near Haidari, the Schisto area heading toward Skaramangas, the Kareas ring road near Ilioupoli, and central Athens, particularly along Vasilissis Amalias Avenue.
