Greek goalkeeping legend Nikos Sarganis dies at 70
Nikos Sarganis, a legendary Greek goalkeeper celebrated as "Phantom," has died at 70.
He had been hospitalized in critical condition and was in a coma before his passing, reports confirmed.
Born January 13, 1954, Sarganis was renowned for his skill and contributions to Greek and European soccer. He played for Ilisiakos, Kastoria, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Athinaikos, earning 58 caps for the Greek national team and cementing his legacy as one of the nation's greatest goalkeepers.
