Arrests made, firearms seized in Turkish mafia raid

In a series of coordinated raids on Wednesday, Greek police targeted Turkish mafia members involved in organized crime across Athens and Thessaloniki.

The operation came in the wake of a deadly shooting spree in Glyfada, where seven gunmen killed two people and injured another. Police arrested at least eight suspects and seized 49 firearms. Among those arrested were two people in a rooftop apartment in Patissia, where police found a suitcase filled with dozens of pistols. Authorities believe the suspects were involved in the illegal arms trade.

The raids were part of a larger investigation that had begun before the Glyfada murders, following intelligence reports on the Turkish mafia's activities in Greece.
