Huawei launches its European logistics hub in Piraeus

Huawei Greece announced on Thursday the launch of its European logistics hub in the port of Piraeus, with the cooperation of Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT), at an event that the government also greeted as a vote of confidence in the Greek economy's outlook.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary in Greece, where it has its Southeast Europe headquarters, the Chinese tech giant launched its logistics hub that is expected to contribute 7.8 million euros per year to the Greek economy and create 30 jobs. That is on top of the 200 employees Huawei has in Greece, of which 80% are Greek, according to Ren Fujun, the chief executive officer of Huawei in Southeast Europe.

He told the launch event in Maroussi that his company's motto, "In Greece for Greece," is also underscored by "the investment of €1 million in the supply of skills, so as to develop Greek talent."
