Extra €2 bln in state payments
The state budget will distribute additional funds of more than 2 billion euros in 2025 to retirees, employees and the unemployed, as increases in spending on pensions are foreseen, along with greater state funding to cover the needs of the National Organization for Healthcare Services (EOPYY), due to the reduction in healthcare contributions by one percentage point, as well as an increase in funding to the Public Employment Service (DYPA) for benefits to the unemployed.
According to Labor and Social Insurance Minister Niki Kerameus, the budget of the Labor Ministry will also be increased, as it will rise to €18.215 billion euros for the next year - i.e. €168 million higher than the estimates made for 2024.
