Council of Europe head to visit Turkey
The chief of the Council of Europe arrive in Turkey on Aug. 3 for meetings with officials and opposition leaders, the council said on July 31.
Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland's comes after Turkey suspended the European Convention on Human Rights, which is reinforced by the council's European Court of Human Rights, following the July 15 coup attempt.
Vandals target Athens offices of SYRIZA, ANEL
The offices of leftist SYRIZA in the Athens neighborhoods of Exarchia, Kallithea and Kypseli were attacked by vandals in the early hours of Monday morning as was the headquarters of Independent Greeks (ANEL), SYRIZA's coalition partner, on Syngrou Avenue.
The unidentified vandals smashed the glass facades of the offices and defaced them with paint.
Twenty-six face Thessaloniki prosecutor for storming cathedral
Twenty-six people accused of storming into Thessaloniki's cathedral on Sunday, interrupting mass in a show of solidarity for those detained following raids on squats in recent days, faced a prosecutor on Monday.
Those detained include 19 women and seven men of whom 17 are Greek and the rest foreign nationals (from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Morocco).

Applications for strategic Galenika partnership opened
Applications from all three bidders interested in a strategic partnership at Serbia's pharmaceuticals company Galenika "arrived in a timely manner."
They were also submitted "pursuant to requirements," a commission in charge of the procedure for establishing the partnership announced after the applications were opened on Friday.
Montenegro Sets Aside Cash for Afghanistan
Montenegro has committed itself to offering 400,000 US dollars in assistance to the government of Afghanistan in 2016.
This is the second aid package which Montenegro will offer the struggling country - despite huge budget gaps and struggles to finance its own army - after Podgorica last year donated another 400,000 US dollars to Afghanistan.
