Parliament concludes regular autumn session
BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament on Wednesday concluded its regular autumn session by passing a series of bills.
It passed bills amending the law on the salary system for public sector employees as well as the laws on public media services and provisional regulation of the method of collecting subscription fees for the public media service.
Djuric: Departures from Kosovo institutions helping unity
BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija, Marko Djuric, on Wednesday welcomed a decision by a part of Srpska lista members of the Kosovo assembly to again leave Kosovo's institutions.
Speaking to reporters in Belgrade, Djuric added he expected those who had meanwhile assumed office contrary to the policy of the Serbian government to resign irrevocably.

The new baby granddaughter of Tom Hanks has been seen out in public for the first time.
The as-yet-unnamed new baby was being carried by her proud mother Tiffany Miles.
Tom’s son Chet Hanks, 26, was not with mom and daughter as they ran errands on December 13 close to Tiffany’s home in Indio, California.

Aleppo: The beginning of the end
In the last few days, Syria and Turkey have experienced dramatic developments on a massive scale. The prevalence of Syrian troops in Aleppo with the support of Russia and the execution of the Russian ambassador in Ankara are directly connected, marking both the beginning of a new period in Syrian-Turkish relations but also in the relationship between Ankara with Russia and NATO.
Greece: 2016 in pictures
The year began with protests against pension reform and ended with the government handing a 617-million-euro bonus to pensioners. In general, 2016 had a back-and-forth feel about it. The government wrapped up the first program review but failed to conclude negotiations on the second assessment. They will drag on into 2017.
