Awards presented at Ankara Film Festival

The best film award at the 28th Ankara International Film Festival's National Feature Film competition was given to Ali Kemal Çınar's "Genco." 

The festival, organized by the World Mass Media Research Foundation between April 20 and 30, ended with an award ceremony at Şinasi Stage, attended by well-known figures of Turkish cinema artists, academics and art lovers. 

Serbia hands protest note to France over Haradinaj

BELGRADE - Secretary-General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Veljko Odalovic on Thursday handed a protest note to French Ambassador Christine Moro over a decision of the Colmar appeals court to reject a Serbian extradition request for Ramus Haradinaj.

The note said the Serbian government believed the decision was politically motivated and without legal grounds.

Djuric has "no answer" to question about dialogue resumption

BELGRADE - The release of former "Kosovo Liberation Army" commander Ramus Haradinaj is a display of great hypocrisy, says the head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija, Marko Djuric, noting that, as a result, he had no answer to the question whether Belgrade and Pristina would resume their dialogue.

Vucic receives Turkish ambassador, invites Erdogan to visit

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Friday received Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Tanju Bilgic, inviting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Serbia.

Vucic expressed support for projects by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.

Kocijancic: EU expects dialogue to continue

BRUSSELS - The EU expects Belgrade and Pristina to continue dialogue in the spirit of constructive commitment, European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic told Tanjug.

Although the Haradinaj case has re-escalated tensions between Belgrade and Pristina, the EC does not expect this to lead to a potential freezing of the dialogue on normalisation of relations between the two sides.

Bureau coordinating security services meets

BELGRADE - A session of the bureau coordinating Serbia's security services, called by PM Aleksandar Vucic following an escalation of the crisis in Macedonia, was concluded in the afternoon, with a written statement expected to be released.

US pledges 9.1 mln dollars more to Serbia

BELGRADE - Based on amendments aimed at improving Serbia's public administration and making its economy more competitive, the US will give Serbia 9.1 mln dollars more in development aid.

The amendments were signed on Friday by Serbian European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic, US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott and USAID Director Azza El-Abd.
