Bulgaria Celebrates the National Enlighteners' Day

Bulgaria celebrates the National Enlighteners' Day. The holiday is celebrated from 1909 when, for the first time in Plovdiv, the society demonstrated the respect towards the people of the spirit. For a national holiday commemorating Bulgarian deserved people, the day was announced on November 1, 1923, with the decree of Tsar Boris III.

A driver plowed a pickup truck down a crowded bike path along the Hudson River in Manhattan on Tuesday, killing eight people and injuring 11 before being shot by a police officer in what officials are calling the deadliest terrorist attack on New York City since Sept. 11, 2001.

The feeling of distrust of democracy covers a significant share of Bulgarian society, according to a survey of sociologists from Trend. 33% of respondents are of the opinion that it would be better for Bulgaria if the head of the state or any, one person, decides everything. And 29 percent even believe that democracy is not a good form of government for our country.

8 Dead in New York City Truck Attack; Mayor Calls it Act of Terror

Police and witnesses say a man deliberately drove a rented truck onto a busy bicycle path near the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan, killing eight people and injuring at least 12 others, then emerged from the vehicle screaming and brandishing imitation firearms before being shot by police. The suspect was wounded and taken into custody, reports cbsnews. 

Sao Tome and Principe revokes recognition of Kosovo

According to the data from Belgrade, the independence of Kosovo was recognized by 106 countries, and two of them have withdrawn that recognition. In addition to Suriname, this is done by another country - Sao Tome and Principe, the island nation in the west of Africa.
